Dear Congressional Republicans,

To my fellow true conservatives and I, you and your Republican Congressional colleagues have been a disgrace. In 2014, Congressional Republicans called on voters to elect them in exchange for their promise to repeal Obamacare, defund Planned Parenthood, cut copious amounts of federal spending, and put an end to President Obama’s tyrannical executive actions. You have achieved none of these promises; instead, the majority of you have spent your time complaining about the direction of this country, while at the same time not creating the changes you wish to see.

Of course a few of you have done your job, but as a whole Congressional Republicans have been utterly worthless. You have handed Obama and the Democrats wins on virtually every major issue spanning from Fast-Track Trade Authority to the Iran Deal, and have looked foolish in the process. You have stood by as Obama and the Democrats have raised the federal deficit to more than 18 trillion dollars. You lost the battle over the 2013 debt-ceiling debate, the public relations war associated with the 2013 government shut-down, the fight for the Keystone XL Pipeline, and most disappointingly, you failed to stop the Iran Deal.When push comes to shove, you have been weak, afraid to be painted by the left-wing mainstream media as radical and terrified of challenging the status-quo. Personally, I have forgotten what it feels like to see conservatives in congress pass conservative legislation.

As Republicans, you have spent time campaigning for small-government and tradition, but your actions display otherwise. Over the past few years I have learned that “Republican” does not necessarily mean conservative. There are plenty of big-government Republicans, including our current leadership: Senator Mitch McConnell and Speaker of the House John Boehner. It’s time for you, the people’s representatives, to hold the Republican leadership accountable for their failure to stop President Obama’s recklessness. It’s time to elect a new Senate Majority Leader and Speaker of the House of Representatives, and bring true conservatism back to congress.

As you move forward and finish the last year of the current congressional term, I call upon you to try to remember the values you claim to represent and the actions you have taken. Do they align? For most of you, I highly doubt they do. Based on the actions of the the Republican congress, I’m not sure what Republicans stand for. If you claim to stand for smaller government, a strong national defense, a decreased federal deficit, and the value of human life, I suggest you pass legislation that acts upon those values. If you choose not too, prepare to be held accountable by those who value true conservatism in your future re-election campaigns.
